GSSP: GSIS Subsidy for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Program

The GSIS Subsidy for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (GSSP) is a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program that provides ₱15,000 annual financial assistance to qualified children of active GSIS members pursuing Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) degree programs in recognized higher education institutions. It replaced the GSIS Educational Subsidy Program (GESP) as an investment designed to remove financial barriers for deserving students in the STEM fields critical to support national development and help cultivate the next generation of Filipino scientists, engineers, technologists, and innovators needed to drive innovation and solve complex national challenges.

Unlike general scholarship programs, the GSSP offers continuous support targeted at STEM fields—the disciplines that drive innovation and create high-skilled jobs. It’s straightforward and focused, and was designed with real families in mind. It continues throughout the child’s entire degree program, as long as they stay enrolled and meet program requirements, allowing the student to stay focused on their studies instead of juggling part-time jobs just to cover tuition. It’s also like a recognition of sorts for students with merit and need, given in the form of financial privileges.
