Tam-an Banaue Multipurpose Cooperative (Tam-an BMPC) is a leading multi-billion-peso cooperative based in Region 2, Philippines. Established in 1991 with just 25 members and ₱25,000 in assets, Tam-an BMPC has grown to over 200,000 members and 62 branches across Luzon as of 2023. Its story began in 1989 when founder Jose D. Tomas, Sr., then a bell boy and waiter, formed the Tam-an Hog Raisers’ Association in Banaue, Ifugao to address livestock issues. He used the tips he earned, and opened the first branch office of the Tam-am BMPC. He formed the Tam-an Hog Raisers’ Association in Banaue, Ifugao to address livestock issues.   • Tam-an English Corner: English learning session for 7–9 year-olds in Villaverde, plus financial literacy for parents and free rice, school bags, and treats.
  • Tam-an Church Support Program: Churches with consolidated member support get equipment or facility upgrades based on member count and capital.
  • Tam-an Community Support Program (Barangay Level): Barangays with consolidated members are awarded appliances, emergency kits, and equipment.

How to Become a Member

To become a member-owner of Tam-an BMPC, you must:

  • Be 18–65 years old
  • Be willing to attend the PMES
  • Commit to building their share capital

Requirements

  • Initial Regular Savings: ₱100
  • Initial Share Capital: ₱100
  • Membership Fee: ₱200
  • Damayan Fee: ₱200
  • Blood Samaritan Fee: ₱100

Total Initial Payment: ₱700

Minimum Share Capital for Benefits: ₱5,000

  • Members are encouraged to build up to ₱50,000 for full access to benefits.

Step-by-Step Membership Procedure

To apply, these are the steps you need to take:

Step 1. Attend a Pre-Membership Education Seminar (PMES)

  • Visit your nearest Tam-an BMPC branch.
  • Register for the required orientation to understand the cooperative’s values, benefits, and responsibilities as a member.

Step 2. Prepare Membership Requirements

  • Valid ID (preferably government-issued)
  • 1×1 ID picture
  • Fill out and submit the Membership Application Form

Step 3. Pay the Initial Membership Fee

  • Minimum required payment: ₱700 only

Step 4. Build Up Your Share Capital

  • Minimum share capital to qualify for benefits: ₱5,000
  • Members are encouraged to gradually increase their share capital up to ₱50,000 to enjoy maximum benefits.

Step 5. Get Your Membership ID and Passbook

  • Once your application is approved and your payment is processed, you’ll receive your official member ID and passbook.

Step 6. Start Availing Products & Services

  • As a regular member, you can now enjoy:
