Sorosoro Ibaba Development Cooperative (SIDC)

The Sorosoro Ibaba Development Cooperative (SIDC) began as a small farmers’ association in Sorosoro Ibaba, Batangas on March 19, 1969. It was initially funded by 59 members who each contributed ₱200 to build a store that supplied basic commodities. As poultry and hog raising became popular, the association expanded to include feeds and veterinary supplies.

Over the years, it evolved into a full-fledged cooperative—changing names from Samahang Nayon ng Sorosoro Ibaba to Sorosoro Ibaba Consumers’ Cooperative and finally to Sorosoro Ibaba Development Cooperative (SIDC) in 1997. Today, SIDC is one of the largest agri-based cooperatives in the Philippines, with over 49,000 regular members and 22,000+ associate members across Batangas and neighboring provinces like Laguna, Quezon, Mindoro, Romblon, and even Metro Manila.
