PERA Multipurpose Cooperative (PERA MPC) is a financial cooperative headquartered in San Francisco, Agusan del Sur. It was formed by a group of bank employees who saw the need for a reliable financial support system rooted in shared trust and accountability. It has been serving Filipino members for over two decades and has expanded its operations across major regions including CARAGA, Northern Mindanao, Davao, Central Visayas, Western Visayas, and Luzon. From its humble beginnings in 1998 with just 29 founding members from the Philippine National Bank (PNB), PERA MPC now boasts more than 16,000 active members and a total asset of ₱2.3 billion. In 2019 alone, it reported a net surplus of ₱91.2 million.
PERA MPC is duly registered with the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) on January 21, 1998, giving it authority to provide member-focused financial services. Though it has since amended its registration three times to accommodate its growth and evolving structure—from its original name, Philnabank Employee’s Resources of Agusan Multipurpose Cooperative to PERA MPC—it has continued to promote thrift, mutual help, and self-reliance among members through access to sustainable economic opportunities. To date, it has grown into a nationwide cooperative with 63 branches and satellite offices—all designed as a platform to build long-term economic resilience among its members and their communities.
