The Pag-IBIG Special Assistance for Financial Emergencies, or SAFE Loan is a special, one-time cash loan program created by the Pag-IBIG Fund to help qualified members cover urgent, everyday needs. It offers affordable emergency cash — up to P10,000, or 90% of a member’s Pag-IBIG Regular Savings, whichever is lower — paired with a low 5.95% annual interest rate, a three-month grace period before payments begin, and flexible repayment terms of one, two, or three years.
The Pag-IBIG SAFE Loan is offered as a safer option for members in need. The program is designed so Pag-IBIG members can bridge their short-term financial gap by borrowing against their own accumulated Pag-IBIG Regular Savings, repay it affordably over time, and get back on steady footing. In simple terms, it works like a financial cushion laid down by Pag-IBIG, which turns years of consistent member savings into a practical, accessible safety net exactly when it’s needed most. Its principle is simple: your own savings, made accessible to you a little sooner, when you need it most.
Who It Is For

The SAFE Loan is a financial product with simple eligibility requirements that makes it accessible. It is offered so members who have been consistently saving get their well-deserved consistent support in return.
The SAFE Loan is generally available to:
- Active Pag-IBIG members with at least 12 months of contributions to their Pag-IBIG Regular Savings
- Members who need extra budget for essential expenses, such as bills, groceries, transportation, and other daily necessities
- Members who already have an existing Pag-IBIG Multi-Purpose Loan or Calamity Loan, since the SAFE Loan can still be granted as long as total short-term loan borrowings stay within the allowable savings-based limit
What the SAFE Loan Offers
Here’s what qualified members can expect from the SAFE Loan:
- Loan amount: Up to P10,000, or up to 90% of the member’s total Pag-IBIG Regular Savings, whichever is lower
- Low interest rate: Yearly interest rate of 5.95%, kept intentionally low to ease monthly repayment
- Grace period: A three-month grace period before the first payment is due, giving members breathing room right after the loan is released
- Flexible repayment terms: Members can choose to pay over one, two, or three years, depending on what fits their budget starting from the fourth month after the loan is released.
- Manageable monthly payments
- Quick disbursement: Once approved, members are notified and the loan proceeds are credited directly to their account
- A safer alternative to informal or high-interest lenders
