Oro Integrated Cooperative (OIC): How to Apply as a Member

Oro Integrated Cooperative (OIC) is a member-owned, open-type primary cooperative in the Philippines. Founded in 1966 in Cagayan de Oro City, it started as Oro Credit Union through the leadership of Atty. Mordino “Mordz” Cua and 27 like-minded individuals. From a modest capital of ₱88, OIC has grown to serve over 220,000 members with 22 branches across Mindanao and Visayas. Guided by its mission to improve the socio-economic well-being of its members, OIC has received multiple national awards and recognitions, including the Gawad Parangal and Villar SIPAG Awards.

To date, OIC continues to grow and evolve, offering its members competitive financial services, social benefits, and a sense of community across the Philippines. Member Benefits

OIC provides more than just financial services. Here are some of the added benefits members enjoy:

  • GAD Health Screening for Women: In partnership with JR Borja General Hospital and the Physicians-Nurses Foundation, OIC offers free breast and cervical cancer screenings to its women members. This service is part of OIC’s Gender and Development Program to promote preventive care and health education.
  • Calamity Assistance Benefit: Members affected by calamities such as floods, earthquakes, and fires may receive financial aid depending on the extent of property damage.
  • Cancer Patient Assistance: Members or their immediate family diagnosed with cancer are eligible for a one-time cash assistance. Immediate family includes spouse, children, and parents.

In response to the pandemic, OIC launched its Online Services in July 2020, allowing members to:

  • Integrated Wealth Building Program (IWBP): Financial education and guidance for members and employees
  • Kabayani Wealth Building Program (KWBP): A long-term savings plan for Overseas Filipinos (OFs), in partnership with Sta. Catalina Credit Cooperative

How to Become a Member (Online Application)

You can join the Oro Integrated Cooperative from anywhere in the Philippines or abroad. Here’s how:

Step 1: Fill out the Online Membership Application Form.

Step 2: Watch the Pre-Membership Education Seminar (PMES) videos and complete all modules.

Step 3: Check your email for payment instructions. Deposit the following to OIC’s bank account:

  • Minimum Share Capital
  • Regular Savings
  • Fixed Miscellaneous
  • Membership Fee
  • Notarial Fee for Oath of Membership
  • Data Agreement Consent (OMDAC)
  • Family Mortuary Program (FMP)

Step 4: Send your validated deposit slip and completed Oath of Membership and Data Agreement Consent to: onlineservices@orointegrated.coop with the Subject: [Your Complete Name]

Step 5: Wait for confirmation via email.

Membership Through Common Share

To become a full-fledged OIC member-owner, you simply need to invest ₱3,000 in Common Share Capital. This gives you full membership benefits, including a voice in the cooperative, a share in profits, and access to all member privileges.

  • Minimum Opening Amount: ₱200 or at least ₱3,000 in subscribed shares
  • Ownership Cap: No member may own more than 10% of the total subscribed Share Capital
  • Interest Earnings: Interest on shares is tax-free, based on the co-op’s audited net surplus, and approved annually by the Board of Directors
  • Redemption: Share Capital is considered equity and can only be withdrawn if you resign from the cooperative
