The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), through its Skills, Productivity, and Research in Knowledge-based industries (SPARK) Program and the ICT Literacy and Competency Development Bureau (ILCDB), offers completely free Virtual Assistant training to help Filipinos break into the digital workforce. No tuition. No enrollment fees. No catch. The program covers core VA skills, AI-powered productivity tools, social media marketing, graphic design, and video editing — the exact mix depending on which batch and region you join — so people who want real remote careers have a structured place to start.
The DICT VA training is just one of several technical training tracks under the DICT SPARK Program. Regional and provincial DICT offices run the program locally, which is why training announcements for the different regions drop at different times, with slightly different requirements. It’s not a single national rollout — it’s localized, which makes it more accessible to people outside Metro Manila. Whether you’re a fresh graduate, an out-of-school youth, a returning OFW, or someone who’s been meaning to go online for years but never knew how — this training will help you.
What DICT VA Training Covers — And Where It Can Take You

DICT VA training runs on two tracks, both completely free.
- General Virtual Assistance 2.0 is the entry point — foundational VA skills combined with AI tools and digital productivity platforms built for how remote work actually operates today.
- VA Services Level III is the advanced track, offered in select regions, where you get actual OJT with industry partners, a TESDA credential, and private sector connections through organizations like Aboitiz Foundation and BELART. You don’t just graduate with a certificate — you graduate with experience.
Think of 2.0 as getting you ready, and Level III as getting you hired.
Across both tracks, you’ll build skills in the following fields:
- email and calendar management
- data entry
- online research
- content creation
- digital productivity tools
Depending on your batch, that can extend into social media marketing, digital marketing with AI, graphic design, video editing, SEO, and audio transcription. SPARK also offers other courses:
- Social Media Marketing 2.0
- Digital Marketing with AI
- SEO
- Graphic Design
- Video Editing with CapCut,
and more — each one expanding what you can offer clients. Every skill you stack opens a different career lane — and a different pay range:
- General VA: email, scheduling, research, admin (est. ₱15,000 – ₱25,000/month)
- Social Media Manager: content calendars, engagement, growth strategy (est. ₱20,000 – ₱40,000/month)
- Content and Creative VA: graphic design, video production, brand content (est. ₱20,000 – ₱45,000/month)
- Digital Marketing Assistant: ads, analytics, SEO, campaign support (est. ₱25,000 – ₱50,000/month)
- E-commerce VA: product listings, customer service, order coordination (est. ₱20,000 – ₱35,000/month)
- Executive VA: project coordination, client relations, business operations (est. ₱35,000 – ₱70,000+/month)
Who Can Apply?
Eligibility may vary per region, but here’s the conditions you need to satisfy:
General eligibility
- Resident of the target region or province (NCR batches are for NCR residents, Masbate batches are for Masbate residents, and so on)
- At least 18 years old
- Access to a laptop or desktop computer
- Stable internet connection
- Willing and able to complete the full training program
For VA Services Level III, add
- TESDA BSRS registration, or willingness to register during screening
- Priority consideration for women, solo parents, out-of-school youth (OSYs), persons with disabilities (PWDs), and OFWs
Practical skill requirements (for those taking the General VA 2.0 training)
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google applications
- Basic communication skills
- Must pass English Proficiency and Typing Tests during screening
Documents You’ll Need
For General VA training applicants, you’ll need:
- Application Letter
- Personal Data Sheet (PDS) CS Form 212, Revised 2026 or Updated resume
- Preferably with CSC Second Level Eligibility
- Diploma and Transcript of Records or Form 137 or 138 (for high school graduates)
- Certificate of relevant training/seminars
- Certificate of Employment
- NBI Clearance
For VA Services Level III, you’ll need the following in addition to the same requirements as the General VA training:
- PSA/NSO Birth Certificate and Marriage Certificate (if applicable)
- Valid government-issued ID with 3 specimen signatures
- Passport-size photos — 1×1 and 2×2
- TESDA BSRS registration and enrollment forms
- One long brown envelope
- One long white folder
Note: Everything must be printed on A4-size paper. Requirements for other batches in other regions are typically lighter — but it’s best to always check the specific announcement for your area before preparing anything.
How to Apply
There is no single nationwide registration link. Each batch is organized and announced by the regional or provincial DICT office running it, so the process starts with finding your batch.
Step 1. Find the open call for applications in your area.
Follow the official Facebook page of your regional DICT office to stay updated on application announcements, registration links (usually a Google Form), and slot updates are posted first. Training schedules are not simultaneous nationwide, so watch for your region’s specific batch via the following:
- Your regional or provincial DICT Facebook page — the most reliable source
- dict.gov.ph for official training announcements
- Direct inquiries: digitaljobsph@dict.gov.ph
Step 2. Submit your application.
Fill out the Google Form in the announcement. Use an active email address you check regularly — all status updates come by email, including instructions for the next stage. Missing an email means missing your slot.
Step 3. Take the English Proficiency and Typing Tests.
Applicants who clear the initial screening receive a test instruction email. Check your inbox and your spam folder.
Step 4. Complete your TESDA BSRS registration (Level III only).
If you haven’t registered yet, this happens during screening — not before training starts.
Step 5. Attend the virtual interview.
Shortlisted applicants go through a final virtual interview before selection.
Step 6. Receive your endorsement.
Qualified applicants are officially endorsed for training and notified of their batch assignment.
Training Format and Duration
DICT VA training runs in three formats, depending on the batch:
- Face-to-face: on-site at a DICT facility or partner venue
- Online: fully remote, conducted via video conferencing
- Hybrid: a combination of both (the format for the current Level III NCR batch)
Duration varies. The General VA 2.0 batch runs roughly two weeks of technical training followed by a ten-day Online Campaign — a practical component where participants apply their skills in a simulated real-world setting. VA Services Level III programs run longer because they include OJT.

Getting into remote work isn’t easy. Even with a DICT VA Training credential and real industry exposure that gives you an actual foundation rather than starting from scratch, getting hired will still depend on your skills and luck. In the meantime, watch your regional DICT page, have your documents ready, and when the next batch opens in your area — don’t wait. Apply.
