Brief History and Development

BSUCMPC began as the MSAC Teachers and Employees Consumers Cooperative in 1984. It evolved into the BSU Credit Cooperative in 1988, and eventually merged with the Consumers Cooperative to form the BSU Multipurpose Cooperative in 1999. The cooperative expanded its reach over the years—first to Benguet and Baguio in 2006, then to the entire Cordillera Administrative Region by 2011. On April 17, 2018, it was renamed Benguet State University and Community Multipurpose Cooperative (BSUCMPC) to reflect its broader community scope.

BSUCMPC membership is open to the following target sectors:

  • Students and youth (through the Laboratory Cooperative)

Eligibility

They are expected to at least meet these criteria before they can be allowed to join:

  • Individuals aged 18 years and above
  • Must reside within the Cordillera Administrative Region or nearby provinces
  • Capable of entering a contract
  • Willing to follow the Cooperative By-Laws and Board-approved policies

Membership Categories and Requirements

Membership with BSUCMPC has different categories, with each type requiring a different set of requirements. Before you apply, make sure to check this list and prepare accordingly:

Regular Members (18–65 years old)

  • Pre-Membership Seminar (PMES) Certificate
  • Completed Membership Form
  • 3 pcs 1×1 ID Photos
  • Valid ID (photocopy)
  • TIN and proof of residence
  • Proof of employment (if employed)
  • Fees:
    • Minimum Share Capital: PHP 20,000 (payable in 3 years)
    • Membership Fee: PHP 300
    • Passbooks (4): PHP 200
    • Mutual Fund: PHP 1,000
    • Hospitalization Fund: PHP 700
    • Total: PHP 22,700 or PHP 7,700 with PHP 5,000 initial share capital

Associate Members (18–65 years old)

  • PMES Certificate
  • Completed Associate Membership Form
  • 2 pcs 1×1 ID Photos
  • Valid ID (photocopy)
  • TIN and proof of residence
  • Proof of employment (if employed)
  • Fees:
    • Preferred Share: PHP 1,000
    • Opening/Maintaining Balance: PHP 500
    • Membership Fee: PHP 100
    • Passbook: PHP 50
    • Total: PHP 1,650

Laboratory Members (0–23 years old)

  • Completed Kiddie Membership Form
  • 2 pcs 1×1 ID Photos of child and guardian
  • Valid ID of guardian (photocopy)
  • Guardian must be a Regular or Associate member
  • Fees:
    • Preferred Share: PHP 1,000
    • Opening/Maintaining Balance: PHP 500
    • Membership Fee: PHP 100
    • Passbook: PHP 50
    • Total: PHP 1,650

Re-entry Members

  • Requires Board of Directors’ approval (1 month processing)
  • Must submit all requirements again
  • One-time Share Capital: PHP 25,000
  • Additional fees and documentation
  • Total: PHP 27,700

How to Join BSUCMPC

Once the requirements are ready, interested member applicants can simply follow these steps:

Step 1. Attend a Pre-Membership Education Seminar (PMES)

PMES Schedule:

  • Main Office – La Trinidad: Every 2nd Saturday of the month (Walk-in)
  • Baguio Office: Every Saturday (By appointment – 0921-4363-269)
  • Buguias Office: 1st and last Saturday (Walk-in – 0998-189-0673)
  • Bauko Office: One-on-one sessions anytime during office hours (0921-436-3272)

Step 2. Complete and submit the membership application form

Step 4. Pay the corresponding fees

How to Deposit or Pay Contributions

Payments can be made or processed as follows:

  • Via Bank Deposit (RCBC, PNB, LANDBANK, METROBANK – La Trinidad Branches)
  • Via GCash: Go to BILLS > Benguet State University and Community Multipurpose Cooperative
  • Over-the-counter at BSUCMPC offices
  • Email proof of deposit to bsucmpc1999@gmail.com with your name, amount, and purpose
